The openCost cost types glossary is now available. It provides a detailed description of the field cost_type and its possible values from the openCost metadata schema. The cost types glossary is intended as a reference to support the consistent use of cost types and to assist in classifying cost items. As a working document, the glossary will be continuously expanded and updated over the course of the project.
For each openCost cost type, the glossary includes a definition, the assignment to the main entities defined in the schema (article or contract), and examples of possible terms on invoices that may indicate the respective cost type.
The document is available both as a PDF for download on the openCost website under Materials and in the openCost GitHub repository. Contributions to the further development and discussion of cost types are welcome via GitHub Issues. The project team welcomes active discussion and input from the community.
